Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck harnesses all nine copies of Nazgûl alongside Witch-king of Angmar to generate a scaling combat and card advantage engine driven by the Ring-bearer mechanic. Early turns establish mana acceleration with Sol Ring, Dark Ritual, and Jet Medallion, transitioning into consistent engine pieces like Call of the Ring. Each time the Ring tempts you, every Wraith gains +1/+1 counters, transforming low-cost deathtouch creatures into large combat threats. Enablers like Roaming Throne and Chronicle of Victory double triggers and grant trample, while Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast generate abundant black mana for recursion and midgame tutor plays. The commander serves as a resilient deterrent that punishes attacking opponents while offering self-preservation through card discard. While the deck boasts immense tribal redundancy and strong creature removal, it remains vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and fast spell-based combo decks.
