Arjun, the Shifting Flame

Format: Commander

Commander: Arjun, the Shifting Flame

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is an Izzet spellslinger deck helmed by Arjun, the Shifting Flame, built to chain cheap instants and sorceries into massive card-draw turns. The commander's ability-putting your hand on the bottom of your library and drawing that many cards each time you cast a spell-turns every cantrip into a full hand refill. The primary win condition is incremental damage from Psychosis Crawler (each draw pings all opponents), Irencrag Pyromancer (damage on the second draw each turn), and Thundering Djinn (attack damage equal to cards drawn that turn). Secondary payoffs include Talrand, Sky Summoner and Young Pyromancer for token swarms, plus a single extra-turn spell in Alchemist's Gambit to accelerate the clock. The deck has no tutors and relies entirely on the commander's draw engine to find its pieces, making it a value-driven, attrition-based strategy that wins through sustained card advantage rather than explosive combos.
