Deck overview

Codie, Vociferous Codex is the mana engine and cascade piece of a five-color spellslinger deck that deliberately plays almost no permanents. The primary plan is to accelerate into Codie, then use its activated ability to turn an Ad Nauseam cast into a free Teferi's Protection, drawing the entire library without losing life. Rituals, cantrips, and tutors then generate enough storm for a lethal Brain Freeze. A secondary path simply hard-casts the Ad Nauseam + Teferi's Protection pair when the mana is available, protected by free counterspells and Silence. Codie's restriction means the deck must sequence every permanent before the commander hits the battlefield.
