Deck overview

This deck is an optimized mono-blue artifact combo and stax engine commanded by Urza, Lord High Artificer. The strategy focuses on deploying cheap utility artifacts and mana rocks during the opening turns to accelerate Urza onto the battlefield on Turn 3. Once Urza resolves, every artifact functions as a mana producer, generating immense tempo and enabling powerful asymmetric lock pieces such as Winter Orb, Static Orb, and Back to Basics. Urza circumvents these stax restrictions by tapping the lock artifacts before his controller's untap step. The deck rapidly converts this board control into decisive victory through redundant infinite mana combos, primarily Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal or Basalt Monolith with Rings of Brighthearth. Infinite mana fuels Urza's activated ability to exile the entire library, cast every spell for free, and close out the game on the spot using Walking Ballista or infinite token swarms.
