Deck overview

This deck executes an exhibition-style 'Oops! All Creatures' spellslinger strategy led by Codie, Ravenous Codex with Umori, the Collector as companion. By restricting every nonland card to the creature type, the deck bypasses traditional instant and sorcery slots while utilizing the prepare mechanic to cast spell copies directly from creatures. Codie, Ravenous Codex doubles every prepared spell cast, triggering immense card advantage from Archmage Emeritus and Vega, the Watcher. Win conditions stem from explosive combat turns via Bria, Riptide Rogue and Sokka, Tenacious Tactician, or an infinite blink storm loop using Displacer Kitten alongside Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song to burn out opponents with Whiplash Wordsmith // Vicious Verse. While extraordinarily synergistic, the strict companion requirement deprives the deck of free counterspells and blanket board wipe protection.
