Deck overview

This competitive Izzet deck is piloted by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph, weaponizing its commander's ability to turn every instance of 1 damage into 3 damage. The primary game plan centers on fast mana acceleration into a compact Underworld Breach storm win alongside Brain Freeze and Lion's Eye Diamond. Supported by premier 0-1 CMC acceleration and efficient card velocity from The One Ring, Rhystic Study, and Wheel of Fortune, the deck reliably threatens a game-ending combo by Turn 4. If the primary Breach line is contested, the deck seamlessly pivots to a spell-damage burn plan, deploying efficient pingers like Coruscation Mage, Firebrand Archer, and Erebor Flamesmith that deal massive table-wide damage with every noncreature cast. Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph also turns 1-mana sweepers like End the Festivities and Blazing Volley into one-sided board wipes against opposing creature decks, all backed by an elite suite of free countermagic.
