Deck overview

This Abzan deck weaponizes high-toughness defenders through Felothar the Steadfast, turning inexpensive walls into devastating offensive threats and potent card-draw engines. In the opening turns, the deck develops its mana using defender-based ramp like Overgrown Battlement and Axebane Guardian while deploying high-toughness bodies like Tree of Redemption and Wall of Blossoms. Once Felothar enters on Turn 4, these defenders gain the ability to attack using their toughness for damage, while Felothar's activated ability turns excess toughness into massive hand refills with zero discard penalty. Asymmetric sweepers like Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers wipe opposing boards clean while leaving your low-power army intact. The deck finishes games by granting evasion via Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa or Behind the Scenes, or by dropping overwhelming finishers like Baldin, Century Herdmaster, Towering Titan, and Craterhoof Behemoth to close out the table across turns six to eight.
