This Dimir control deck uses Garland, Royal Kidnapper to weaponize opponents' battlefields through theft, goad, and the monarch mechanic. Garland introduces the monarch to an opponent on entry, immediately seizing their best creature and buffing all stolen creatures by +2/+2 while protecting them from sacrifice effects. The deck sustains this engine by flickering Garland with spells like Ghostly Flicker and Blur to trigger fresh theft triggers or by goading opposing threats to pass the monarch around the table.
