Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan +1/+1 counters and aristocrats combo engine commanded by Ghave, Guru of Spores. The strategy revolves around leveraging Ghave's abilities to convert +1/+1 counters into 1/1 Saproling tokens and sacrifice creatures to place +1/+1 counters. By combining Ghave with counter modifiers like Hardened Scales, Ivy Lane Denizen, or Cathars' Crusade, and mana engines like Ashnod's Altar, the deck generates infinite colorless mana, infinite creature tokens, and infinite enter-the-battlefield and death triggers. These loops instantly finish opponents via aristocrat drainers such as Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Zulaport Cutthroat, or a lethal Walking Ballista. As a secondary line, the deck features a persist engine with Kitchen Finks and Melira, Sylvok Outcast. While the deck possesses immense modular synergy, it operates with minimal instant-speed interaction and relies on surviving through board wipes via recursion and protective pieces like Shalai, Voice of Plenty.
