Deck overview

This deck is a focused Izzet spellslinger burn deck led by Gandalf the Grey. It seeks to assemble cost reducers, mana generators, and damage multipliers before unleashing chains of cheap instant and sorcery cantrips. Rather than relying on combat damage alone, the deck whittles down all three opponents simultaneously using Gandalf's flexible burn trigger in tandem with pingers like Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, and Firebrand Archer. Key engines like Displacer Kitten reset Gandalf's modal restrictions on every noncreature cast, while Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus turn each spell into additional mana and fresh cards. Explosive rituals like Jeska's Will and Mana Geyser enable massive turns that culminate in a Past in Flames storm sequence, burning out the entire table across one to two decisive turns while maintaining protective countermagic.
