Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Rakdos strategy built around Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 flying, indestructible, hasty dragon that creates a Treasure token for each point of noncombat damage dealt to it. The deck utilizes dense mana acceleration and ritual spells to deploy Smaug by Turn 4 or 5. Once on the board, symmetrical damage sweepers like Blasphemous Act and Chain Reaction or repeatable engines like Pyrohemia trigger Smaug for massive bursts of Treasure tokens without destroying the commander. These Treasures are then funneled into lethal mana sinks such as Fireball, reflected damage engines like Wrathful Red Dragon and Pain for All, or alternate win conditions including Hellkite Tyrant. While the deck possesses built-in resilience against traditional destroy removal, it relies on natural draws to find specific damage multipliers and remains vulnerable to exile effects.
