Deck overview

This deck is a classic Gruul aggro build dedicated to Wolf and Werewolf typal synergies, piloted by Tovolar, Dire Overlord // Tovolar, the Midnight Scourge. The game plan revolves around deploying aggressive one- and two-drop creatures, casting Tovolar on Turn 3, and immediately converting combat connections into raw card advantage. On Turn 4 upkeep, Tovolar automatically transforms the pack into their Nightbound forms, drastically increasing their base stats and granting combat abilities. The deck leverages this sudden stat surge alongside trample enablers, firebreathing effects, and mass buffs like Overrun to eliminate opponents across consecutive combat phases by Turn 7. While the deck boasts high draw velocity and strong recovery from hand, it relies entirely on creature combat and carries minimal protection against board sweepers or instant-speed removal.
