Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan toughness-matters combat deck led by Doran, Besieged by Time. The primary strategy deploys efficient, high-toughness creatures and defenders during the early turns, leveraging Doran's cost reduction to flood the board ahead of curve. Once assembled, Doran turns defensive stats into massive offensive power by granting creatures +X/+X bonuses equal to the difference between their power and toughness whenever they attack or block. Supported by redundant toughness-assigning engines such as Assault Formation, Felothar the Steadfast, and Doran, the Siege Tower, the deck swings for lethal damage using oversized beaters like Indomitable Ancients and Ancient Adamantoise. Board protection pieces like Bedrock Tortoise and Akroma's Will shield the battlefield from disruption, while asymmetric tools like Slaughter the Strong break parity by wiping high-power opposing boards while preserving your own defensive foundation.
