Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari tribal aggro-midrange build centered on Chief of the Wilds. The primary game plan develops mana on the first two turns, casts the commander on turn 3, and immediately starts stacking +1/+1 counters and doubling Wolf triggered abilities on turn 4. The deck transitions into the midgame by chaining Wolf token generators like Ferocious Pup and Pack Guardian with power-based card advantage engines such as Garruk's Uprising and The Chief Warg. In the late game, it closes out opponents via overwhelming combat damage powered by Unnatural Growth, Surrak and Goreclaw, and Return of the Wildspeaker. A dense package of low-cost protective spells shields the commander from spot removal, while the raw density of Wolf threats ensures the deck can rebuild quickly after sweepers.
