Format: Commander

Commander: Toph, Hardheaded Teacher

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Gruul landfall and +1/+1 counter hybrid. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher is the engine: every spell turns a land into a hasty attacker, and Lesson spells add extra counters. Toph, the Blind Bandit in the 99 acts as a hidden backup that animates lands and scales with counters. The deck ramps into landfall token makers (Omnath, Rampaging Baloths), piles counters onto lands and creatures, and finishes with a Moraug extra-combat turn, often fueled by Worldsoul's Rage and Splendid Reclamation. It can also burn via All Will Be One, Casey Jones, Solphim, and Raphael. The mana base is slow but the redundancy is high.
