Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck leverages Saruman, the White Hand to convert every noncreature spell into an increasingly massive Orc Army token. Early turns focus on establishing mana through signets and lands, preparing to cast Saruman on Turn 4. Once Saruman enters the battlefield, chaining cantrips, removal spells, and card draw quickly expands the Army's power, which is further amplified by trigger doublers like Harmonic Prodigy and Veyran, Voice of Duality. Evasion enablers such as Shadowspear, The Black Gate, and Enter the Enigma ensure the giant Army can bypass blockers to eliminate opponents one by one. A backup army plan in Lord of the Nazgûl provides resilience against commander-focused removal, while a responsive suite of countermagic and sweepers controls the tempo of the table.
