Rat Burn by TinfoilRat

Format: Commander

Commander: Wick, the Whorled Mind

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rat-tribal aristocrats/combo deck built around Wick, the Whorled Mind. The primary plan is to flood the board with 1/1 Rats, grow the 1/1 Snail Wick creates, and sacrifice it for a large burst of damage and card draw. The cleanest finish is Plague of Vermin with Wick: paying most of your life creates a huge Snail and instantly threatens lethal damage. Secondary routes are aristocrat drain loops using Ashnod's Altar and Nim Deathmantle, or infinite Rat generation with Marrow-Gnawer and Intruder Alarm. Wick is the engine and finisher; Marrow-Gnawer acts as the deck's hidden lieutenant. Cauldron of Souls, Meathook Massacre II, and Funeral Room give the deck strong insurance against wipes.
