Deck overview

This deck uses Smaug the Impenetrable as a central engine to convert noncombat damage into overwhelming Treasure production. By running fast mana, rituals, and artifact acceleration, the deck reliably casts its seven-mana commander on turn 4. Once Smaug enters the battlefield, damage sweepers and self-targeting burn spells like Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, and Cut Propulsion deal massive damage to Smaug without destroying it due to its indestructible keyword. Each point of damage generates a Treasure token. The deck then translates this massive mana and artifact burst into game-ending burn through cards like Mirkwood Bats, Reckless Fireweaver, Pain for All, or a lethal Crackle with Power. Robust protection from Deflecting Swat, Hexing Squelcher, and Shadow the Hedgehog shields key turns from opposing interaction.
