Deck overview

This deck is a focused combo-control build centered on Mairsil, the Pretender. It aims to fill the graveyard with synergistic activated-ability creatures and artifacts using cards like Buried Alive, Entomb, and faithless looting effects. Once Mairsil enters the battlefield, he cages key abilities from exile. The core win condition relies on Quicksilver Elemental, which allows Mairsil to bypass his 'once each turn' restriction by repeatedly copying his own abilities. Combined with mana producers like Gilded Lotus and Pili-Pala, Mairsil generates infinite colored mana and untaps to kill the entire table with Hateflayer or Walking Ballista. The deck supports this game plan with a robust suite of efficient Grixis interaction, targeted discard, and free counterspells.
