Deck overview

This is a Grixis Assassin-tempo deck built around Edward Kenway, whose end-step trigger turns every tapped Assassin, Pirate, and Vehicle into a Treasure, and whose Vehicle trigger exiles cards off the top of opponents' libraries for you to cast. The plan is to attack with a swarm of Assassins to enable freerunning spells, convert combat hits into Treasures, card draw, and exile-cast advantage, then close with a single overwhelming sequence - an extra combat from Overpowering Attack or a delve extra turn from Temporal Trespass - that removes one player, which Ramses, Assassin Lord upgrades into the win. Supporting the swarm is a historic-matters shell: Basim Ibn Ishaq draws per historic cast, Crystal Skull, Isu Spyglass and Ballad of the Black Flag churn the library, and The Capitoline Triad can turn the whole board into 9/9s. With an average MV of 3.27 and no fast combo, this is a midrange combat deck that wins through inevitability and value rather than speed.
