Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Aristocrats and thematic creature-combat engine commanded by Sméagol, Helpful Guide. Its game plan revolves around sacrificing recursive creatures such as Bloodghast, Nether Traitor, and token generators to trigger Sméagol at the end step. Each death trigger causes the Ring to tempt you, which steals lands from opponents' libraries directly onto your battlefield tapped while milling their cards. The deck leverages this ramping land count and repeated Ring temptations to buff a package of nine Nazgûl, fuel massive beaters like Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar and Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer, and trigger severe life loss with Syr Konrad, the Grim and Poison-Tip Archer. While the deck generates steady card advantage and strong mid-game board presence, it lacks tutors, fast mana, and instant-speed protective spells, leaving its creature-dependent board vulnerable to board wipes and graveyard interaction.
