Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo mono-red voltron strategy focused on Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos. Alexios passes around the table at each player's upkeep, gaining a +1/+1 counter, haste, and an attacking mandate. Because commander combat damage tracks per commander rather than per controller, Alexios accumulates lethal damage rapidly on every single turn cycle. The list supports this game plan with sticky equipment like Commander's Plate and Mithril Coat that remain attached as control shifts, ensuring Alexios survives opposing turns. Damage amplifiers such as Furnace of Rath, Fiery Emancipation, and Lizard Blades accelerate the clock from a multi-turn grind into a Turn 5 table elimination. Efficient mono-red ramp enables Turn 2 or Turn 3 deployment, while redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and free counterspells like Pyroblast defend the commander against targeted disruption.
