Deck overview

This Temur deck is commanded by Iroh, Grand Lotus, functioning as an innovative spellslinger and land-animation hybrid. The deck stocks its graveyard with Lesson cards and inexpensive utility spells during the early turns through natural casting, looting, and land-ramp spells. Once Iroh enters the battlefield, he grants every Lesson in the graveyard flashback for a single generic mana, unlocking massive spell velocity. This triggers potent payoffs like Toph, Hardheaded Teacher to convert lands into aggressive, resilient attackers through the earthbend mechanic, while Burning Vengeance and Firebrand Archer whittle down opposing life totals. Although the deck lacks instant-win combos and fast mana, it compensates with an extensive suite of one-mana protection spells to safeguard Iroh and its board state. It presents a resilient, interactive mid-game engine capable of overwhelming opponents through compounding value and combat steps.
