Deck overview

This deck is a Selesnya lifegain and +1/+1 counters strategy commanded by Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn. The game plan revolves around playing cheap lifegain enablers like Soul Warden and Essence Warden, using Lathiel to distribute massive quantities of +1/+1 counters to build threatening board states. It features explosive alternate win conditions including Felidar Sovereign, Aetherflux Reservoir, and the infinite life combo of Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Spike Feeder. The deck possesses strong high-end protection through cards like Teferi's Protection and Flawless Maneuver, as well as devastating board clears like Farewell. However, its mana base is constrained by an unusually low land count of 29 lands, which creates early-game inconsistency and tempo delays. When given time to establish its engines, it creates enormous life totals and overwhelming creature boards.
