Elves by ssancho

Format: Commander

Commander: Thranduil, the Elvenking

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This is a Sultai cEDH-grade combo deck that uses an ultra-low-curve mana engine (a dozen mana dorks plus ritual-class fast mana) to race into one of several two-card win lines. The primary path is the classic Hermit Druid package: with zero basic lands in the 99, Hermit Druid's activation mills the entire library, and Dread Return (or Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler) reanimates Thassa's Oracle for the win. Parallel lines include Demonic Consultation/Tainted Pact + Oracle and the Chain of Smog + Witherbloom Apprentice infinite-damage loop, with Devoted Druid + Staff of Domination as an infinite-mana engine feeding the same outlets. The commander, Thranduil, the Elvenking, is a value engine that borrows every activated ability of the Elves in the graveyard and draws cards off legendary Elf ETBs - but none of the deck's actual win lines require him, making this a combo pile that functions at full strength commander-less.
