Deck overview

This Dimir artifact combo-control deck leverages Golbez, Crystal Collector to merge fast artifact ramp with high-impact graveyard synergy. In the early game, the deck establishes a wide artifact presence using cheap mana rocks, artifact lands, and token producers like Sai, Master Thopterist and Forensic Gadgeteer. This quickly activates the commander's ability to surveil and recur key creatures every turn. The primary win condition centers on resolving a massive self-mill spell such as Traumatize or Cut Your Losses, or tutoring with Buried Alive, to place Apocalypse Demon into the graveyard. With eight artifacts on the battlefield, Golbez triggers at the end step to drain all opponents simultaneously for damage equal to the Demon's graveyard-scaled power. If the commander is disrupted, the deck pivots into an evasive combat finish using Cyberdrive Awakener or alternate victory lines with Mirrodin Besieged, backed by a suite of flexible sweepers and countermagic.
