Deck overview

This Selesnya aggro deck is commanded by Byrke, Long Ear of the Law, focusing on an aggressive +1/+1 counter and go-wide token strategy. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost creatures and token makers early, such as Valley Mightcaller, Finneas, Ace Archer, and Hop to It, before resolving Byrke on Turn 5. Byrke distributes +1/+1 counters upon entry and doubles all counters on attacking creatures each combat, causing the board's offensive power to scale exponentially. Supporting enchantments like Innkeeper's Talent and creatures like Serra Redeemer accelerate counter accumulation and provide passive protection. The deck features reliable on-curve ramp, solid spot removal (Path to Exile, Buried in the Garden), and asymmetric clearing via Fell the Mighty. While vulnerable to sweepers and lacking stack-based countermagic, the deck presents overwhelming combat lethal clocks starting on Turn 6, closing out the table over two full response cycles by Turn 8.
