Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Golgari graveyard strategy commanded by Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis. The game plan focuses on quickly filling the graveyard through self-mill cards like Stitcher's Supplier, Grisly Salvage, and Life from the Loam while deploying low-cost mana dorks. These creatures and milled cards satisfy Hogaak's convoke and delve requirements, enabling an 8/8 trampler to enter the battlefield as early as Turn 4 without spending mana. Once assembled, the deck applies steady combat pressure supported by high-power threats like Ghoultree and token generators such as Feed the Pack. Graveyard recursion through Winter, Cynical Opportunist and Reanimate provides steady recovery against spot removal. The deck controls opposing creature boards using asymmetric sweepers like Culling Ritual and Terror Tide, while mitigating aggressive counterattacks with fog spells like Arachnogenesis.
