Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Mardu Aristocrats Combo list built around Celes, Rune Knight. The strategy centers on an infinite loop between Celes, a creature with persist (such as Putrid Goblin, Lesser Masticore, or Murderous Redcap), and a free sacrifice outlet. When a persist creature enters the battlefield from the graveyard, Celes places a +1/+1 counter on all your creatures. This counter instantly cancels the creature's -1/-1 persist counter under state-based actions, enabling infinite sacrifice loops. Outlets like Goblin Bombardment, Altar of Dementia, and Blood Artist turn this engine into immediate lethal damage, drain, or mill. A dense suite of creature tutors and low-mana reanimation spells ensures rapid assembly by Turn 4, while silence effects like Grand Abolisher and Ranger-Captain of Eos protect the winning turn against opposing disruption. If Celes is removed, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed provides an independent undying-persist combo line.
