Deck overview

This Gruul Midrange deck is commanded by Aerid Konstrari, blending artifact token production with aggressive stompy finishers. The deck leverages early ramp from mana dorks and Medallions to cast Aerid on Turn 4, immediately generating Heartwood tokens that fix mana and ramp toward high-end threats. As the artifact count grows, the deck transitions into lethal combat swings using explosive payoffs such as Craterclaw Colossus, Displaced Dinosaurs, and Devastating Onslaught, or alternative win conditions like Hellkite Tyrant. Card advantage is maintained through power-based draw engines like Garruk's Uprising and The Great Henge, alongside token engines such as Idol of Oblivion. Key interaction pieces like Heroic Intervention, Deflecting Swat, and Chaos Warp defend against opposing disruption while clearing critical blockers. The deck consistently pressures the table by Turn 6 and cleanly eliminates opponents in subsequent combat steps.
