Deck overview

This is a mono-black monarch control/drain deck helmed by the transforming Starscream, Power Hungry // Starscream, Seeker Leader. The primary game plan is to become the monarch early - either through the commander's haste-enabled attack or via cards like Custodi Lich and Court of Locthwain - then weaponize the extra draws with life-drain payoffs. Psychosis Crawler, Bloodletter of Aclazotz, and Starscream's own "whenever you draw a card, target opponent loses 2 life" convert each draw into mounting pressure. The deck uses premium tutors (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor) to assemble a one-turn kill: Peer into the Abyss draws half the library while Psychosis Crawler and Bloodletter drain all opponents simultaneously. Secondary wins come from combat damage and value attrition through Massacre Wurm and Overwhelming Forces.
