Deck overview

This mono-black control deck uses Maha, Its Feathers Night to reduce all opposing creatures to a base toughness of 1. By combining Maha with continuous -1/-1 effects such as Kaervek, the Spiteful and Ascendant Evincar, or asymmetric sweepers like Massacre Wurm and Night Clubber, the deck establishes a one-sided creature lock where opponents' creatures die immediately due to state-based actions. The deck runs a dense package of redundant -1/-1 sweepers alongside aristocrat value engines like Morbid Opportunist and Massacre Girl, Known Killer. Once the board is locked down on Turn 5, Maha attacks in the air for 6 flying, trample commander damage each turn, closing out the game alongside life drain from Painful Quandary and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. While vulnerable to artifact/enchantment-based strategies and mass exile sweepers, it provides overwhelming control against creature-reliant tables.
