Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Zaxara, the Exemplary, focusing on casting high-impact X-spells that generate large Hydra creature tokens. The primary game plan accelerates mana through Zaxara and cost-reducers, expands creature power using counter doublers like Unbound Flourishing and Doubling Season, and finishes games through combat damage or massive life-drain spells like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate. The deck also features a compact infinite mana combo using Freed from the Real on Zaxara, enabling instant table kills. Its interactive suite includes scalable X-counterspells, flexible removal like Assassin's Trophy and Steelbane Hydra, and protective instants like Silkguard and Inspiring Call to safeguard large boards from board wipes.
