Deck overview

This Esper spellslinger deck uses Y'shtola, Night's Blessed to turn mid-cost noncreature spells into symmetrical burn, life gain, and steady card advantage. The strategy opens by developing mana rocks and cost reducers like Lyse Hext before casting Y'shtola on Turn 4. Once assembled on Turn 5, the deck chains noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to deal 2 damage to each opponent while triggering end-step card draws and fuel from Curiosity or Archmage Emeritus. A comprehensive Esper control suite—including Void Rend, Dovin's Veto, and Snuff Out—disrupts opposing threats while maintaining spell velocity. In the late game, the deck accelerates its clock using damage amplifiers like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, an infect surprise via Phyresis, or a lethal Torment of Hailfire to finish all opponents simultaneously.
