Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Grixis synergy list commander-centric around Obeka, Splitter of Seconds. The game plan focuses on connecting with Obeka in combat to gain additional upkeep steps equal to the combat damage dealt. These extra upkeeps supercharge Court enchantments, Suspend cards, and recurring triggers. Early turns focus on deploying mana rocks and establishing evasion through cards like Aqueous Form, Whispersilk Cloak, and Sword Coast Sailor. Once Obeka lands a clean hit, engines like Court of Ambition and Descent into Avernus strip opposing hands and burn through life totals in rapid bursts. While highly explosive, the deck is heavily commander-reliant and requires dedicated protection to prevent spot removal before combat damage resolves.
