Deck overview

This Sauron, the Dark Lord deck leans hard into the amass Orcs / Ring tempts theme, turning every opponent spell into an Army growth trigger and using the Ring's tempt-and-discard-to-draw-four clause as its primary card advantage engine. The game plan is midrange-control: amass a steadily growing Army token, protect it with ward and hexproof effects, then finish either by overwhelming combat (Assault on Osgiliath giving double strike and haste) or by a game-ending Chandra's Ignition or Widespread Brutality. The deck also packs a small reanimation package (Animate Dead, Reanimate, From the Catacombs) to repeatedly reuse value creatures like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician or Sauron, Lord of the Rings. It eschews infinite combos in favor of layered value, resilient Army beats, and a robust interaction suite that keeps opponents in check until the Army is lethal.
