Deck overview

This deck is a classic Izzet spellslinger and storm list helmed by Melek, Izzet Paragon. The game plan revolves around developing mana and establishing library manipulation tools like Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, and Brainstorm during the early turns. Once Melek resolves, the deck copies instant and sorcery spells cast directly from the top of the library. This duplication engine generates substantial card flow and mana velocity using High Tide, Turnabout, and Frantic Search. The deck closes out games by chaining spells through Past in Flames, Mind's Desire, and Epic Experiment to burn opponents out with Guttersnipe or create an overwhelming swarm of flying Drake tokens with Talrand, Sky Summoner. It also contains an instant-speed infinite token combo via Dualcaster Mage and Rite of Replication. While explosive, the strategy is mana-intensive and reliant on protecting its six-mana commander.
