Sam’s Betor by ExJester1

Format: Commander

Commander: Betor, Ancestor's Voice

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Betor, Ancestor's Voice commands an Abzan lifegain and self-harm engine that converts life total swings into board presence, card advantage, and lethal drain. The deck leverages life payment outlets like Bolas's Citadel, Doom Whisperer, and pain lands to fuel Betor's end-step reanimation, while incidental lifegain triggers pump aggressive threats. Primary victory paths center on group-drain engines such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Vizkopa Guildmage, Marauding Blight-Priest, and Enduring Tenacity, which translate life gain into direct table damage. Secondary win conditions include massive combat damage from growing beaters like Voice of the Blessed and Karlov of the Ghost Council, or chaining spells through Bolas's Citadel.
