Otter Deck 2 by user8701072

Format: Commander

Commander: Alania, Divergent Storm

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is an Izzet spellslinger deck built around casting multiple instants and sorceries in a turn. Alania, Divergent Storm copies the first instant, first sorcery, and first Otter spell each turn in exchange for one opponent drawing a card, effectively doubling early spell volume. The deck develops a token engine with Talrand, Young Pyromancer, and Third Path Iconoclast, ramps with Storm-Kiln Artist, and closes either through Guttersnipe/Veyran burn or a Drake swarm. Mizzix's Mastery is the primary finisher, converting a full graveyard into a lethal spell chain. Stella Lee, Wild Card serves as a hidden backup copy engine. A commander swap is not clearly better: Alania's no-tap copy fits the deck's plan, while Stella Lee's tap ability is slower and Kitsa's color identity would not support the red cards.
