Deck overview

Jace, Multiverse Architect commands a five-color Token Polymorph control deck that exploits a deck-building constraint: running zero low-cost creature cards in the 99. The early game focuses on deploying two-mana ramp artifacts and noncreature token generators like Skrelv's Hive, Dreadhorde Invasion, and Lingering Souls. On Turn 4, Jace is cast and immediately executes his −3 ability to exile a token and flip directly into an overwhelming high-mana threat such as Archon of Cruelty, Serra's Emissary, Archfiend of Despair, or Avacyn, Angel of Horror. Backup engines like Proteus Staff, Mass Polymorph, and Synthetic Destiny provide redundant ways to cheat game-ending permanents onto the board. The deck controls the tempo with comprehensive board wipes (Sunfall, Martial Coup) and targeted removal (Swords to Plowshares, Stroke of Midnight), while Jace's static tax deters combat pressure. Victory is achieved through evasive combat damage and life-drain attrition over two combat rounds by Turn 7.
