Deck overview

This Boros control deck commands Lorehold, the Historian to turn massive, game-ending instants and sorceries into hyper-efficient 2-mana miracles. By combining Lorehold's upkeep discard-and-draw trigger with topdeck manipulation tools like Scroll Rack, Sensei's Divining Top, Penance, and Library of Leng, the deck regularly casts powerhouse spells—such as Storm Herd, Rise of the Eldrazi, and Dance with Calamity—on opponent turns for a fraction of their normal mana costs. Multi-untap mana rocks like Victory Chimes and Bender's Waterskin ensure that 2 mana is always available during opposing upkeeps. The deck protects its commander and key spells with top-tier defensive interaction including Grand Abolisher, Deflecting Swat, and Teferi's Protection. Once a critical board presence of 40+ flying tokens or cascaded spells is established on Turn 5, the deck swiftly overwhelms the table on Turn 6 while using asymmetrical wipes to suppress opposing recovery.
