Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy centered around Vivi Ornitier, who functions as both a win condition and a scaling mana engine. Every noncreature spell cast places a +1/+1 counter on Vivi and pings each opponent for 1 damage, while Vivi's activated ability converts that power into a burst of blue and red mana once each turn. The list supports this game plan with low-cost cantrips, cost-reducing creatures like Stormcatch Mentor, and secondary burn payoffs like Fiery Inscription and Guttersnipe. A comprehensive suite of counterspells and bounce spells protects the board while advancing the spell-count clock. Without dedicated tutors or infinite combos, the deck achieves victory through compounding spellslinger turns, dealing massive symmetric burn and closing out opponents around Turn 8.
