Deck overview

This is a five-color, high-curve control deck led by Child of Alara. It uses land ramp, mana creatures, and artifact acceleration to reach expensive permanents, then protects a developed board with indestructible effects and resets opposing boards with sweepers. The One Ring is the clearest repeatable card-flow engine, while Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Elspeth Tirel, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and Genesis Ultimatum provide large late-game advantages. Child of Alara gives the deck a powerful emergency reset, but the list does not reliably sacrifice and recur it, so it is not a repeatable lock. The deck can produce strong battlecruiser positions around turns 7–10, but its threats are expensive, its lands often enter tapped, and its finish is usually combat-based. It has useful interaction and protection, although holding up answers competes with development. Its main weakness is that value does not consistently become a compact table kill.
