Lifebargain by ANTHO

Format: Commander

Commander: Vilis, Broker of Blood

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black deck places Vilis, Broker of Blood at the helm, turning life payment into massive card advantage. The strategy revolves around using Vilis's ability - whenever you lose life, draw that many cards - as an engine to dig into acceleration, tutors, and finishers. The primary win conditions are large X-spells (Exsanguinate, Torment of Hailfire) powered by Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, or a devastating Bolas's Citadel chain. Secondary paths include a high-devotion Gray Merchant of Asphodel drain and commander damage from Vilis's 8/8 flying body. The deck leans heavily on life-pay synergies, recursion via Phyrexian Reclamation and Chainer, Dementia Master, and a dense stack of instant-speed removal to keep the board clear while assembling a game-ending mana base.
