Deck overview

This Atraxa, Praetors' Voice deck is a focused Poison and Proliferate midrange build. Its strategy centers on placing early poison counters on every opponent through low-cost toxic/infect creatures and global poison spells like Prologue to Phyresis and Ichor Rats. Once all opponents carry poison, the deck leverages Atraxa's guaranteed end-step proliferation alongside compounding multipliers such as Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus and Inexorable Tide to tick up poison counters across the entire table simultaneously. High-efficiency countermagic and removal—including Fierce Guardianship, Deadly Rollick, and Cyclonic Rift—protect the engine and disrupt opposing threats. Because poison counters cannot be removed, the deck applies inevitable, irreversible pressure that closes out games by Turn 7 without relying on combat damage alone.
