Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue spellslinger and stax strategy commanded by Lier, Disciple of the Drowned. It seeks to constrain opposing mana development and creature activations early through asymmetric stax pieces like Back to Basics, Harbinger of the Seas, Cursed Totem, Frozen Aether, and Storage Matrix. While opponents struggle under tapped or converted nonbasics, the deck deploys Talrand, Sky Summoner, Murmuring Mystic, or Docent of Perfection and casts Lier, Disciple of the Drowned. With Lier in play, every cheap cantrip and bounce spell in the graveyard gains flashback, converting a stocked graveyard into massive card advantage and an insurmountable swarm of evasive flying tokens. Opposition turns every token into repeatable mana and threat denial, while spells like Snap, Scourge of Fleets, and Flood of Tears clear away blockers for a lethal air assault.
