Deck overview

This mono-black deck is led by Gonti, Night Minister and focuses on evasive combat theft. By pairing a high density of 1-drop and 2-drop unblockable and shadow creatures with Gonti's combat trigger, the deck reliably steals cards from opposing libraries while generating Treasure tokens upon casting them. This creates steady card flow and mana velocity without diluting the core game plan. The deck controls the board with efficient spot removal and sweepers such as Meathook Massacre II and Withering Torment, while disrupting opposing strategies through Winter Moon and Dauthi Voidwalker. Win conditions center on scaling combat damage with stolen permanents, drain from Brainstealer Dragon, or eliminating opponents one by one using an unblockable Vorpal Sword. The strategy is resilient against single-target disruption due to cheap backup attackers and reanimation, though it remains vulnerable to wide creature wipes and artifact removal.
