Deck overview

This Dimir control deck utilizes Jon Irenicus, Shattered One to turn terrible drawback creatures and aggressive beaters into lethal weapons against opponents. By donating cards like Phyrexian Soulgorger, Rotting Regisaur, and Evil Eye of Urborg, the deck forces opponents to attack each other while suffering severe upkeep penalties. Because Jon grants permanent goad and sacrifice immunity, opponents cannot easily discard or sacrifice these threats. Each attack from an owned creature draws a card, generating continuous card advantage that fuels counterspells, removal, and defensive enchantments like Propaganda and Dissipation Field. Once opponents whittle each other down, the deck secures the final win using Homeward Path to reclaim its buffed army, turning the tables with Reins of Power, or resolving a lethal Exsanguinate.
