Deck overview

This is a Mardu aristocrats-and-theft midrange deck helmed by Tariel, Reckoner of Souls. The plan is to fill opponents' graveyards, then reanimate and permanently steal their best creatures with Tariel, Animate Dead, Reanimate, Puppeteer Clique, and The Eldest Reborn, while a classic sacrifice engine (Ashnod's Altar, Priest of Forgotten Gods, Skullclamp) converts fodder into mana, cards, and life drain. Payoffs like Blood Artist, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Mayhem Devil, and Teysa Karlov turn every death into table-wide damage. There are no infinite combo lines; wins come from attrition drains, stolen beaters, and opportunistic combat. Tariel is a powerful late-game value engine but is expensive at seven mana and is not required for the aristocrats or reanimation core to function.
