Deck overview

This mono-black control deck uses Maha, Its Feathers Night to reduce all opposing creatures to base toughness 1. It pairs this commander ability with a dense suite of -1/-1 counter spells and global debuffs to repeatedly wipe opposing boards while leaving its own creatures untouched. The deck establishes heavy creature stax by turn 6, preventing opponents from maintaining any board presence. Once the lock is active, the deck grinds down life totals with flying beaters like Maha and large demons, or assembles an infinite token death loop using Blowfly Infestation and Nest of Scarabs. While exceptionally oppressive against creature strategies, the deck has thin mana acceleration, low noncreature interaction, and a slow multi-turn combat clock.
